Hospitals and medical centers across the country take great pride
in promoting what they call their "Centers of Excellence" -- services in which they excel.
At McCready, our Center of Excellence is our staff.
We are a diverse corps of professionals led by an experienced executive team and governed by a board of directors drawn from volunteers in our community.
Our physicians, nurses and managers live in our community as well. Each department is staffed by people you know.
Some of us care for patients. Others staff the offices that support our health-care professionals, or work to keep our facilities comfortable and safe. Regardless of our individual jobs, we are each committed to protecting and preserving your health. We want to be your first choice for emergency, health and elder care, right here in your community, close to home.
Our reputation for excellent patient care is not merely local. I'm delighted to report we are among the most respected hospitals in our region. We routinely received Delmarva Foundation awards for meeting and exceeding Medicare's National Patient Safety Goals.
The second decade of the 21st century marks a new era for McCready as we introduce a second-generation nursing and rehabilitation center. Its four-story design features room for 76 skilled-nursing beds and the fourth floor is dedicated exclusively to assisted living, an expansion of our eldercare services we believe are vital to our surrounding communities.
Data on patient satisfaction compiled by the national Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers consistently places us well ahead of our peer hospitals on the Lower Shore, across Maryland and the nation.
As pleased as we are with our successes, we know that we cannot simply congratulate ourselves and go on as usual. We remain firmly focused on our ultimate goal and mission: "Building a healthy community one person at a time."
