McCready therapy team easily accessible

McCready healthcare professionals who provide therapy services are under one roof: the McCready Rehabilitation Center.

Therapists work from an easily accessible white stucco building with a distinctive blue roof adjacent to the main entrance for McCready Memorial Hospital.

First-time visitors in need of physical, pulmonary, occupational or speech-language pathology therapy have no trouble finding their destination approaching McCready from Byrd Road on the east side of the hospital.

"We were able to see it clearly from the road. It's very accessible to patients,"said Sonny Rantz of Stockton, who accompanied his mother-in-law to the center for her first visit.

Crisfield artist Becky Lowe graciously has loaned her limited-edition prints featuring Chesapeake Bay maritime themes to adorn the lobby.

Colette N. Outten
is director of rehabilitation services. She supervises a staff that includes:

  • Beverly Fry: an occupational therapist and a certified lymphedema specialist.
  • Holly Lewis: speech pathologist and certified VitalStim (swallowing) therapist
  • Tory Widdowson: physical therapist
  • Roxanne James: rehabilitation technician; she is a certified nursing assistant and geriatric nursing assistant
  • Debbie Laird: receptionist

Also part of the rehabilitation team are Gary Smith, respiratory manager, and respiratory therapists Donna Laird and Linda Payden.

The outpatient rehabilitation center has other “patient friendly" features as well, including “reserved parking”signs adjacent to the front door.
