Mozelle Saltz Welless Program
Cardiac Rehabilitation and Community Fitness
McCready Memorial Hospital in Crisfield offers
residents a low-cost option for cardiac rehabilitation - and those simply looking for a friendly place to exercise. Our facility has been recently remodeled, with new carpeting, freshly painted walls and equipment upgrades.
McCready operates an "open door" fitness center with the same equipment available in most upscale gyms and sports clubs. This includes Platinum Marcy all-body exerciser, power toner, rowing machine, ab coaster and ab lounger
A sunny, state-of-the-art gym with a relaxing water view features an elliptical machine, fixed and free weights, recumbent and exercise bicycles. Treadmill enthusiasts can look out on scenic
and watch boats and waterfowl come and go. Or just enjoy the indoor environment with color TV and air conditioning.
The gym is reserved each Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning from 6:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. for cardiac rehabilitation patients who exercise under the supervision of Dianna Howard, ACLS certified trained technician.
Dianna provides routine blood pressure and heart rate monitoring for cardiac rehab participants during each workout session.
The program costs $30 per month. A physician prescription or recommendation is required.
An "adult fitness" supervised class providing blood pressure readings and heart rate monitoring is available for $20.00 a month on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 6:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
A signed physician's permission is also required to join.
Community wellness is available as an unsupervised activity. The public may use the equipment at the cost of $15.00 per month with a signed physician permission. Hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Signing up is easy. Contact Dianna Howard between 6:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday by calling (410) 968-9615 or e-mail Dianna at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Dianna can provide application forms that must be completed with help from a family physician. Once cleared by a doctor, applicants should schedule an appointment to meet at the gym and complete the registration process.
All participants receive instruction on how to use the machines
