You should be checked for pre-diabetes -- or diabetes -- if you have two consecutive readings of the following criteria, in any order:
Pre-diabetes
- Fasting sugar >100 and <126
Type 1 and 2 diabetes:
- Nonfasting sugar > 200 and classic symptoms
- Fasting sugar >126
