Type 1 or Type 2?
Have you ever had anyone ask what type of diabetes you have? Have you ever wondered the same thing? Below you will find information about this topic.

Type 1 Diabetes
The pancreas does not work right.  The cells in the pancreas that produce insulin are damaged or destroyed.  This means that little or no insulin is produced when you eat. If you have Type 1 diabetes, you are started on insulin immediately. You are usually very sick and may notice that you are losing weight without trying.  This type of diabetes usually happens in children or young adults.

Type 2 Diabetes
The pancreas may make some insulin, or it makes enough, but the body can’t use it properly.  This type of diabetes usually occurs in the older, overweight, under active individual (but not always).  This type of diabetes is increasing in young people and children.
