McCready offers comprehensive rehabilitation services to help people recover from disabilities due to illness, accidents, injuries, or the aftereffects of some surgeries.
Our specialties include physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech and language therapy.
Therapy also is available in the inpatient rehabilitation center at the
Alice B. Tawes Nursing & Rehabilitation Center
and for outpatients at McCready Memorial Hospital.
Our licensed and certified physical therapists help patients restore or improve physical functioning. Together, they focus on building muscular strength, flexibility, balance, coordination and endurance. They also show patients how to use braces, wheelchairs, crutches, artificial limbs and other adaptive equipment.
Occupational therapy provides people with adaptable strategies to regain the skills they need for daily living. OT patients learn new techniques to help with bathing, dressing and grooming, and how to modify work and home environments to accommodate disabilities. Our occupational therapist is skilled in hand-injury therapy and in therapy for people with lymphedema.
Speech and language therapy helps patients improve the way they understand or express language. Our speech therapist works with patients with swallowing disorders that impede their ability to eat or drink safely. Pediatric speech therapy is another service available at McCready.
