    Perry Reese, American Legion Post 16’s past Commander and post historian, is still the person presenting the post’s charitable gifts -- even though she is now a resident at the Alice B. Tawes Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She holds three checks: one for $1,500 for the nursing home building fund, another for $500 for the nursing home auxiliary and the third for $1,000 for McCready Hospital. In recent years, she has appeared at McCready several times each year bearing gifts from the Legion. With her is the nursing home’s nursing director Susan Bradshaw, who accepted the donations.
