The new Alice B. Tawes Nursing & Rehabilitation Center's building fund grew by $500, thanks to a donation from Mrohs Gas, Inc. of Crisfield. Company president Doug Mrohs (right) hands the check to Jay Tawes, chairman of the Tawes nursing home campaign. The fund drive is within $95,000 of its $1 million goal. The four-story building opens in 2010 with 76 skilled-nursing beds and a separate floor featuring 30 assisted-living beds.
