The new Alice B. Tawes Nursing & Rehabilitation Center's building fund is closer to its $1 million goal, thanks to a $500 donation by Sherwin-Williams and its local plant, Rubberset. Site manager Norm Wolske presented the Sherwin- Williams' Foundation check to Jay Tawes, chairman of the Tawes nursing home campaign. Tawes said another $100,000 is needed to finish the fund drive. The four-story building opens in 2010 with 76 skilled-nursing beds and a separate floor featuring 30 assisted-living beds.
